The pictures presented here are drawn from that earlier period – created over a decade across locations including Ireland, India, Greece, Lanzarote and the United Kingdom.

From an early stage in my work, I came to understand that location itself was secondary to the experience of creating the pictures.These works are not descriptions of place, but explorations of something more internal – a response to atmosphere, presence, and the act of being immersed in the landscape.

They are the result of many hours spent walking, climbing and observing – engaging directly with the elemental qualities of the natural world.

In many ways, this body of work forms the foundation of my practice. It established an approach that continues to inform my ongoing work: a focus on experience over location, and an interest in the relationship between landscape and an inner sense of stillness, connection and oneness.
