Buckland House is a Georgian stately home, near Faringdon in Oxfordshire, England. It is a masterpiece of Palladian architecture. John Wood the Elder designed the house and his son, John Wood the Younger, who masterminded the Royal Crescent in Bath, built it in 1755 for Sir Robert Throckmorton.
David Magee was commissioned to create a photo study of the ancient trees in the grounds of the estate for the current owner. The twenty four resulting images were produced as tritones and hand tipped onto debossed panels throughout the publication. There is a clear difference between a mass produced and a finely crafted book, one that is often lost in today's world. This monograph was meticulously finished and produced by hand in London, resulting in a single volume that is a piece of Fine Art in itself.
